Participants will be able to track their health and personal data, identify patterns by seeing how symptoms correlate to experiences, share patterns with their network, and build a community of support.
This Pilot program will evaluate the impact that using an app like Zamplo can have on survivors that are actively in domestic violence situations and how we can take this information to change current policies and systems. Fuck choice feminism. It’s a trap. For those not in the know by now, “choice feminism” is the name given to the liberal feminism that exalts the choices of individual women as the highest virtue and promotes anything and everything a woman chooses to participate in as feminist. On the surface this looks very appealing — a core aspect of patriarchal oppression is denying women the freedom to choose, after all. However, it is childish and shallow. It ignores the fact that choices are not made in a vacuum, that actions are the cause and consequence of societal factors, and that women, like any other oppressed class, can elect to be complicit in their own subjugation. It often ends up falsely equating patriarchal repression with feminist criticism of said repression, because both are telling women what to do, right? Ridiculous, imagine ever getting anywhere with this type of mentality, imagine trying to organize a slave revolt or prison strike only to be shut down with “stop telling people what to do it’s their choice to submit to their captivity!”
Point being that movements can’t affirm all actions, counterproductive choices, ones that hurt the cause, must be criticized. As much as choice feminists like to pretend otherwise, not blindly accepting every single decision isn’t limiting choice or stopping anyone from doing what they want — if a woman doesn’t want to put in work to reject patriarchy, it is absolutely her choice to not join the movement dismantling it 🤷🏾‍♀️

For too long, gender based discrimination has diminished opportunities and restricted freedoms for gender minorities. While the ERA has met all the requirements outlined in Article V of the Constitution necessary to become a constitutional amendment, National Archivist David Ferriero will not record it in the Constitution because the US Justice Department, under former Attorney General Bill Barr, instructed him not to do so.

In partnership with @freespeechforpeople, and other partner organizations, we are sending a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland demanding he instruct the Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Counsel to rescind its January 6, 2020 advisory opinion regarding the ratification of the ERA so that Ferriero can include the ERA in the Constitution.

We believe that the Department of Justice is not, and should not be considered, a gatekeeper on the legal validity of an amendment, and we believe the legal basis the Office of Legal Counsel included in its January 2020 ruling is invalid, as the deadline it is referencing in Dillon v. Gloss was included in the text of the proposed amendment ratified by Congress.

The certification of the Equal Rights Amendment will have wide-reaching, material impacts on the lives of all Americans. It is intersectional with economic justice, racial justice, queer liberation, climate justice, and so much more. Our aim with this letter is to not only pressure Attorney General Merrick Garland to rescind the January 6th memo, but to also show the support of organizations from a multitude of issue areas to highlight both the intersectionality of gender equity and the broad support for the ERA.

Even among people who have been convinced to misunderstand equality as "everybody gets the same treatment", there's usually an 'aha' when they realize that "equality" for women means not only equality between men and women but also and perhaps even more importantly means equality **among** women.

Once we recognize that we're seeking equality among women, the light flips on and all the other systems of oppression are revealed. We see not only that gendering/sexism oppresses all women, but also that racism oppresses women, that classism oppresses women, that ableism oppresses women, that orientalism oppresses women, that every system of oppression oppresses women. The intertwining and interaction of these systems into a "matrix of domination" (Patricia Hill Collins, 1990) oppresses women, and does this differently depending on each woman's place within the matrix.

For women to experience full humanity and for all women to experience full humanity as equals, Feminism must address all forms of oppression. Feminism has to work for equality among women.

(And what about the men? Another conversation... but let me leave you with this question: Why would we want to be limited in our aspirations to achieving what even the most privileged of men have? Can't we think of something better?)
